Dear Parent/Guardian
Invitation to a meeting about epilepsy, Saturday 12th September, Rhuddlan Community Centre, 10.00 to 12.30
A number of parents of young people with epilepsy have said to us that they would like to meet other parents in a similar situation. Also, some of the young people with epilepsy have expressed interest in meeting other young people in the area with epilepsy.
As a result, we thought it might be a good idea to have a meeting and invite all those interested along.
The aim of the meeting would be to discuss epilepsy, and to set the ball rolling, there would be brief presentations from some of us involved with epilepsy services in the area We would then have a panel discussion to answer questions about epilepsy and local services. We could then discuss whether it would be helpful to have a local group for parents and young people. Sometimes these groups can offer very valuable support and advice for those encounterring epilepsy for the first time.
The meeting will be open to all parents/carers for people with epilepsy, and for young people with epilepsy. If you would like to come, please ring Mrs Wendy Wright in the Department of Paediatrics and Glan Clwyd Hospital on 01745 534808, or e-mail her on Wendy.wright4@wales.nhs.uk
A draft programme for the meeting, and a map of how to get there is shown overleaf. Please note that unfortunately on this occasion we will not be able to provide creche facilities.
We hope to see you there!
