Applications now being taken for Family Holiday Association breaks in 2017!

Applications for short breaks, days out and project funding are now open!

Thanks to help from funders, partners and referrers like you we were able to help a massive 5,184 families in 2016.

Last year was our biggest year to date in terms of the number of families we helped to access a break away from home. Of these families 99% said they had fun and created happy memories, 98% said their children enjoyed new experiences, and 91% said they were better able to cope as a family after the break.

You can view our 2016 Impact Report on our website for a summary of last year’s achievements and hopefully it’ll inspire you to be a part of this year’s successes.

Short Breaks

We are currently offering breaks at seaside caravan parks around the country, such as Haven and Butlins site. We will be able to offer other types of short break later in the season at quieter holiday parks, so please check back as the year progresses.

To make applications for families you work with you’ll need to be logged in to our Referrer’s Area. If you need help logging in please contact grants@FamilyHolidayAssociation.org.uk or call us on 0203 117 0651.

Days Out

Later in the year we hope to offer an exciting range of day trips and family tickets with partners such as Visit Kent, Visit Hertfordshire and the National Trust, as we have done in previous years. This year we’re also taking applications for small grants towards a day-trip of your own choosing. These breaks are for families where an overnight break away isn’t quite right at this stage, who have not had a holiday this year and would be unlikely to afford a day out.

A day out could be as simple as a trip to the beach, visiting a local attraction, or heading into town to visit a museum. The application form is here – get applying!

Group Project Funding

Our next deadline for applications for funding towards a group project is 5pm on March 31st. We have budget available for day trips, so if you’re thinking of running a trip to the beach or a local attraction for a larger number of families please check out the FAQs and make an application.

See our partnership with VisitScotland featured on the BBC’s Reporting Scotland (featuring our very own John Kinnear!)

We were delighted to work with VisitScotland last year to provide 250 struggling families with a short break or day out away from home. Businesses such as hotel chains, regional transport providers and local attractions came together to donate their products the project, which was featured on a number of BBC radio and television programmes. You can view a clip from Reporting Scotland on our website to see the difference it made.

We hope to be able to run a similar project this year – keep your eyes peeled if you’re working with families in Scotland!
